About this scholarship

Established in 2026 through a gift from the bequest of Dr Pamela Reisner to the Alumni Friends Fund. Alumni Friends dates back to 1967, when UQ sponsored the formation of an association to foster relationships with UQ alumni. Operated by a large group of volunteers, Alumni Friends of The University of Queensland Inc, and its special interest groups contributed significantly to UQs continued growth and development through supporting UQ students, researchers, and educators. In 2020, the former Alumni Association closed, to be replaced with a UQ-supported Giving Society, Alumni Friends. The Scholarship honours the life of Dr Pamela Reisner, a Bachelor of Science and Master of Zoology graduate, and a former member of Alumni Friends who has donated to various UQ causes, including the UQ Art Museum, UQ's Greatest Needs, scholarships and animal research.
