About this scholarship

Friends of Dr Indran Chelvanayagam have contributed $60,000 to establish a fund for the purpose of providing, in perpetuity, an annual travel scholarship in rural ophthalmology for students enrolled in the course for the degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) at The University of Western Australia ('the University'). This scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Dr Indran Chelva who committed his career to working in regional and rural practise. In particular, he regularly visited the Kimberley to provide services in Indigenous communities and always enthused about these visits. His life was tragically cut short but he is remembered fondly and respectfully by his colleagues.
